Great functionality in my first fishing kayak! Easy to transport and maneuver with only one person. On the negative side, I am 6'2\" & wear a size 12 shoe.. the kayak is comfortable enough but can be uncomfortable on the feet and legs on long fishing trips. The kayak comes with a limited warranty which is nice but you have to register with the manufacturer within 30 days of purchasing... which is impossible when the website for the manufacturer sends you to a page with a link that is not working. So I have no warranty. I had issue with the quality of construction in that the seams of the outter plastic for the body didn't line up perfectly leaving a lip around most of the kayak, while the inside is nice and smooth *& water tight! All in all this is a good kayak and I would recommend for persons at or under 6' tall, who don't mind missing out on a warranty due to the manufacturers poor website.

Purchased spring 2018 for recreation on local lake. I'm 6'2\", 215, age 60 and fit comfortably in the kayak. Like the adjustable footrests and my wife does too at only 5'2\". It does drift a little with each stroke but I'm not surprised it doesn't track perfectly at this price level. Haven't fished with it yet so no comment. So far, it does what I wanted. A comfortable, independent way of getting away from the city to get exercise while enjoying the water and weather. Keep it close to your drop off spot; you don't want to carry it too far. :-) Was more surprised it cost $400 for the car rack to carry the kayak. Yes, I would consider purchasing another for my wife.

I bought this Kayak a month ago and my first time on it was incredible, I didn't realize I could feel so stable on a kayak until I tried this one. Even going into the bay on this Kayak was easy on a rougher day, I never even came close to flipping over. However, the drain plug is a little frustrating because if you beach this Kayak and get sand inside of it, its hard to get out since the drain plugs aren't at the very bottom and theres a small pocket for sand to build up. I got just about all of the sand out by spraying a hose into the bottom for a minute while it was standing up and the cap was out, however it got pretty frustrating. Other than the sand build up, this Kayak is 100% worth the price and great for fishing or just Kayaking.

I’ve been kayaking for 3 years, and this kayak out does my previous ones by a long shot. Been using it now for three days in moderate to high winds just to see how it performs. I’m impressed with the tracking, it holds the course I. Very stable, absolutely no problems. It moves thru the water like it’s been waxed. It’s not top of the line but for the price you can’t go wrong. It’s pretty lite so that makes one man loading much nicer. This could be the last kayak I will buy

This kayak is amazing and I will tell you why with the following story.

As I set out on a lake at a ripe 6a.m., I anticipated a calm kayak journey, as one would with a recreational kayak. I paddled for about 45 minutes towards the middle of the lake and enjoyed myself thoroughly. Eventually, I started to notice the wind pushing me forward at a high speed, and I looked to my left to see big black storm clouds on their way. I turned my kayak around to face the wind that was blowing aggressively and the waves had become significantly choppier. I thought to myself, \"oh heck, I have to paddle all the way back through this!\" I started my long trek back only to have the wind continuously push me backwards. With the multiple choices of footholds in this kayak, I was able to obtain different levels of leverage when needed. As I paddled furiously, it started to rain and the waves grew larger and larger, but I never feared for my safety regarding the vessel (however, I did fear for my safety regarding possible lightning). Despite being a recreational kayak, the Pelican Trailblazer managed the foot-high cresting waves like a champ. Through all of this, I was never uncomfortable in the seat, and the netting at the back kept my dry bag and waterproof speaker on board the whole time. I paddled for about an hour back in these treacherous conditions, but this kayak never gave in.

11/10 would recommend this kayak, but maybe don't purposefully take it into a storm.

This kayak is easy to handle out of the water because it is so light. In the water it is comfortable to sit in and paddle and it tracks well through the water.
