I bought this boat about a month ago and have been out in it a half dozen times, including a four hour stint.

    Pros:
    1. Tracks surprisingly well. I have no problem keeping it on even course, even without a rudder.
    2. Really stable. As others have noted, this kayak is super stable, even when entering and exiting.
    3. Relatively light. I am able to load and unload this kayak onto and off of my car's roof with little trouble.

    Cons:
    1. The seat is not very comfortable. I definitely was sore the day after my four hour trip. I may replace or supplement the seat.
    2. Lack of o rings. There are no rings on the boat. This is a problem for a fishing kayak (nowhere to clip anything like a fish stringer). I solved this issue by installing some myself (Dicks sells o rings made to be installed on kayaks).
    3. The cockpit might be uncomfortable for a taller person. I am short (5'5\") and about 189 lbs. I have enough space, but I can't imagine being over six feet and being comfortable in this kayak.

Great Kayak for a beginner like me. Fishing rod holders are great! Ideally, the storage compartment in the front is water tight (but it's not). And it would be great if the cup holder was a standard holder. It holds a sealed water bottle on it's side. Very stable kayak on the water and isn't the greatest tracking, but what you'd expect from a beginner kayak.

Had to drive to lawerence to get it, no where in kc had it In stock. Took it to the lake on a busy weekend, it handled the wakes of boat pretty well wouldn't want to be on it if the waves were white capping.

only negative I can give it is that the back cargo space tends to collect water.

I got it when they had it for $399 on 6/12/21 so would wait if they try to sell for more worth waiting for $50 since thats how much an ok paddle is.
also I way 230 and can stand up in it easily

Bought 2 of these as my husband and I both have knee injuries. Just can’t get in and out of the sit in kayaks anymore. We are absolutely loving these on the lake. They are a bit unwieldy so we bought a “cart” for transport to the beach but once in the water they are fantastic. Easy on and off and they glide beautifully across the water. Definitely recommended.

I bought my Pelican Mustang 100X Kayak in late June 2018 after a long time of research on independent sites. My daughters and I have rented sit on and sit in kayaks for a couple years and decided sit in was defiantly the way to go. My daughter bought one Mustang and I bought two.

We have taken them out 4 times in the last 6 weeks on Mission Bay in San Diego. They track very well and are very easy to use. I am not a small man at 250lbs, and have no problems with my Pelican Mustang 100X Kayak; it is very stable in the water. It is very roomy and even has room to take my dog with me. They are easy to load on top my SUV and easy to store with a roof pulley system in the garage.

I highly recommend the Pelican Mustang 100X Kayak to anyone who want to start kayaking and doesn’t want to spend a lot of money to get started. I also recommend getting a 240 paddle; I have a 220, 230 and the 240, and have found out the longer the better.

I bought this two weeks ago. It is lightweight and very maneuverable in the water.
