We bought this 2 months ago and have used it almost every weekend. Despite being a family of 5 with 3 small kids and me being 6' 4\"/230, we all fit and are not yet near the 550 lb weight limit. The kayak is a tandem and has seating for 3, but you will have to get an additional seat for the third person. We are able to travel fairly long distances and the wide kayak is plenty stable, but note that the kayak is definitely not meant for speed.
Be sure to grab longer paddles due to the 36\" width of the kayak. Also note that the kayak is 78 lbs and 13.5' long. Transportation requires two people as does putting it up or taking it off of the top of a vehicle. Purchasing a scupper hole kayak cart was the best thing that I could have done and makes it easier for getting it to/from the water while my wife is wrangling the kids.
There isn't any enclosed hatch for keeping things dry, so adding a dry bag is necessary unless you are willing to cut into the kayak. There are spaces just in front of every seat that a third-party 6 or 8\" hatch can be installed. I have not done this yet. Note also that there are scupper holes, 10 of them, and water will enter the kayak unless you install scupper plugs.B**n
Very stable. Good amount of storage space. Kinda slow. I would not take this on a long distance trip. It's harder to paddle than other kayaks I've used.

My wife and I purchased two of these 10’ Lifetime Teton Angler kayaks. We are new to kayaking and they are great. We went with this unit due to the nice comfy seat. I’m 6’ 1” tall and weigh 210# and had no issues what so ever. I have not tried fishing from it yet. And I also installed 2 dry storage deck hatches since they did not come with any.

GREAT YAK! VERY GOOD QUALITY, STABILITY & TRACKING. We own three of the Pelican Mustang 10' kayaks (pink, blue, green) with the first being bought over a year ago - this boat is great for casual use - for both adults and kids, easy to track even with light cross winds or currents. Its light weight and has many nice features - zip bag is cool, adjustable foot rests, elastic tie downs, front round storage is NOT watertight, we use it for storing a line for securing or for towing the yak. We place a small orange flag on a pvc stick in the fishing pole pocket to gain extra visibility by boaters. Highly Recommended.

I wanted to go kayaking in my neighborhood lake, and since my husband wasn’t too interested, I wanted one I could load and handle by myself, and that didn’t cost too much. This fit the bill perfectly. I am 58 YO, 145lbs and 5’8”, and I can load and unload it easily from our pick-up. I could not carry it the 200 yards to the lake access from the parking lot, but I bought a little kayak cart which easily solved that problem. (Although light, the kayak is long and bulky). The kayak is stable, tracks straight, and coasts pretty well when you stop paddling. (It will feel like it stops dead but if you watch a leaf or cottonwood fuzz floating on the water you can see that you are still moving away from it when you stop paddling.). I would have liked an open sit-on-top one, but they were heavier. My legs fit well underneath so it’s no issue. Buy a $10 dry bag for the rear if you need to keep something completely dry. If it’s just a jacket and stuff it’s probably fine unless you’re in big waves. Definitely a great first kayak for gentle lake conditions. Be gentle pulling out the plug to drain, bc you could snap it off as one reviewer said. Jiggle it out gently side-to-side.
