This was my stimulus check gift to mySELF. In the past three weeks, I’ve done about 30 miles in this boat—and love it. I haven’t been in a ton of rough waters yet, but I have made it through some ship canals that get pretty rough when bigger boats go through, and have spent time on lakes, in waterways, and on the Puget Sound (all on relatively calm days).
Is it the best kayak out there? No. But it’s probably the best for the price point.
After consulting with my avid kayaker of a brother, I decided to go with the 12’ rather than the 10’—and I don’t regret that decision even a little bit.
I’m a fairly strong woman, and can haul this kayak ~100 yards on my own—though it’s challenging to do so. It’s seems that under 50 yards is what’s comfortable to carry the boat alone (for me).
I looked at 3 different 12’ kayaks in this price range, and this one was the lightest by about 2lbs, and certainly the prettiest.

Have not had the occasion to try it yet . Water is high from excessive rainfall. I'm going to thoroughly enjoy it I'm sure.

If you are interested in kayak fishing but don't want to invest into a high dollar pedal drive kayak right away, this is a great place to start. The Teton is very stable and comfortable. Compared to some more expensive kayaks it is a little slower and the tracking could be better. But, for the price, it really can't be beat. This will get you on the water and fishing without draining your wallet.

Purchased the Pelican NXT Trailblazer 100 Kayak. Very stable, well designed, and comfortable- despite my back issues. Well priced and several great colors. I would highly recommend this kayak

I love how easy this kayak is to transport by myself. I am 63 years old and weigh 200 pounds. Stable, easy to pick up and haul, fits in the back of my Jeep Patriot with tailgate open. I can get on the water in a flash!
