Tracks well. Stable in the water. Plenty of storage and extras.

This is my first kayak and I love it. Easy to handle and definitely tough. I have used as a Tandem and I have had it out alone. It is heavy, I had to go back and buy a cart. It was money well spent. Myself and the family have had a lot of fun in it.

I just bought this kayak today and took it out on very choppy waters in the ocean with 4 foot waves and lots of boat wakes. Suprisingly did not feel unsafe or like it might tip. It did quite well. I am 230 and it held my weight fine. Though I do suggest this kayak for beginners and warn you not to go out in very rough water unless you have experience. I am a seasoned kayaker and would recommend this to anyone wanting a cheap start. It is very good and stayed pretty straight in 15 mph winds against a riptide current. Not fast though as it is quite wide. Will be trying the speed in calm pond waters tomorrow. One last thing to note is I went out in rough waters and stayed completely dry. On a lake it would be even better. The seat was comfortable after 3 hours with ample legroom.

This Kayak is great for the casual kayaker. Easy to get on and off and a very comfortable seat with a back

I bought this kayak a few months ago. The first time I had it in the river, I paddled 12 miles. I had borrowed another kayak from a friend a year ago and used it on the same water trail. Different brand but similar in price and features. No comparison. Unlike the borrowed kayak, my Pelican tracks so well. I don’t feel like I’m fighting the kayak the entire time. I certainly wouldn’t take it on anything other than flat water, but it performs as it should.

A couple of weeks ago I spent mega hours trying to decide between this kayak and another. So I put both in my cart. My youngest and I decided to go to the local Dicks to look at them in person. We walked out with both boats. One for me and one for him. Yesterday, finally, we got to put them in the water. Neither of us had ever been on a kayak in our lives. I know about canoes but thought there might be some differences. We spent 3 solid hours on the lake cruising around at different speeds and trying out everything from rocking the boats to letting the wind push us back to shore. We had a blast! One word of advice- make sure you have a way to get them home if you decide, like we did, to buy more than one. We did not have the J-bars on the rack.

I bought this kayak late in the spring after having a friend convince me it would be great fun to kayak together! I had never been in a kayak before and had no idea what to look for. After putting several in my cart only to come back a few hours later to find it was sold out, I finally ended up with this one and hurried to get it paid for and went to pick it up. First time on the water, I climbed in and was able to take off and had no problems! I am 5'6\" and 155 lbs and have no problem carrying and loading this kayak by myself! I am loving it. It tracks very well and is so stable in the water! My friend and I have had many adventures since I have bought this. Unknown to me before I bought mine, she had bought a Pelican also, very similar to mine. We both love them and have had tons of fun in them!
