Been after this kayak for years. Very hard to find one locally. When we finally did, we sprung for it and bought it. It’s an amazing yak with plenty of room. The ONLY downside is the seats. You pay hundreds of dollars for a yak and they throw $20 seats in them. Zero back support. We almost returned it but have since decided to upgrade the seats to what Perception SHOULD be putting in there. You need to have at LEAST a 20” back in this yak. The ones they put in there are no more than 10”-12” on the back. I know for a fact, it doesn’t cost much to mass produce these yaks, so Perception should throw in high back seats. I’m a staunch Perception supporter but this one has me second guessing that. Next yak won’t be a Perception due to their lack of knowledge in what the customer wants and needs.

So this kayak is a great little boat, but some of the reviews I've seen on YouTube commented on its lack of buoyancy when filled up with water. Say, the boat tipped over, or something along those lines. However, it looks like that has been addressed from the manufacture. I purchased this boat today from dicks, and now I see styrofoam on the sides of the seats that fill in the bulk head. This should really address the issues of boat sink.

I've owned Current Design touring yaks for a while, but with my recent weight gain, it found myself in the market for a yak that would carry a person of size. I've heard all the derogatory comments and remarks about pelican. Does the hull feel thin, yes, Does it have sealed bulkheads and watertight space, no. BUT it tracks well and for a day cruiser , it's more than sufficient for my needs, AND it was 1/5th the cost of my Current Desgin.

I bought this about a month ago and have loved every minute of this kayak. It's very stable getting in and out the water. We purchased these kayaks so we could fish in the beautiful lakes and bays of norcal

I purchased this a week ago. It glides across the water very easily. Very comfortable and is great quality.

Bought this kayak a few weeks ago to use in my local waters and it’s been great. Relatively lightweight, doesn’t feel cheap, and paddles easy in the water. Wish it had a storage compartment like the Tamarack but overall I’m very happy with it.

Not the best kayak but for the price you can not beat the features you get with a pelican. Perfect for beginners or people that don’t an on going out all the time

I went out for the first time in my friend's yak a couple of weeks ago on LeDue Reservoir, and I was hooked! I had to have my own yak! This was going to provide me with hours and hours of fishing, and relaxation. My friend and I went to purchase and pick out my new yak and I brought it home yesterday! I am so excited to try her maiden voyage. So much I have to do first before she goes in the water! I bought the sunset orange one and I'm so thrilled to have her! Thanks to my friend Jim and Dick's I'm a new Yak owner!
